BURNLEY goalkeeper Rachel Brown helped Great Britain to keep a clean sheet today in their final warm-up match before the Olympic Games.
Brown is one of two keepers in the Great Britain squad for the Olympics and appeared as a half time substitute for Karen Bardsley as they drew 0-0 with Sweden.
The 32-year-old, who started her career with Accrington Stanley Ladies and now plays for Everton, has 78 caps for England and has represented her country at five major tournaments.
Brown had to save from Swedish captain Nilla Fischer in the second half at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium as Great Britain showed their resilience in defence.
They open their Olympic campaign against New Zealand at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium on Wednesday before facing Cameroon and Brazil in their final two group matches.
