JUNIOR Hoilett believes he can play a role in an exciting Ewood Park future after committing himself to Sam Allardyce’s youthful Rovers revolution.
The 19-year-old Canadian put pen to paper on a new two-and-a-half-year deal on Thursday and insists there is a lot more to come from him and his fellow fledglings as they bid to take the Premier League by storm.
Hoilett revealed there were other clubs interested in him but, having spent since the age of 13 coming through the ranks at Ewood, was adamant Rovers was always his first choice.
Hoilett now hopes to celebrate his new deal with a goal at Anfield tomorrow afternoon – and getting one over some of his Canadian friends in the process.
Hoilett said: “Blackburn was always my first choice.
"I have been here since I was 13 and I feel this is my club.
"There were other clubs interested but I paid them no notice because I was focused on signing for Blackburn Rovers.
“Blackburn Rovers are a great club and there will be great times ahead.
"It was in the back of my mind and now it is over so I can focus on the football side of it.
“There are some great young players coming through and developing as a unit.
"The manager has shown he is prepared to give young players a chance and that is great.
"We can all only get better and hopefully that will be good news for Blackburn Rovers.”
