Liverpool fans are going Ashley Barnes mad in a bid to help their Premier League title bid.
Burnley host leaders Manchester City at Turf Moor on Sunday and can do Jurgen Klopp’s side a big favour as the look to end their 29-wait for a league title.
Clarets fan Liam Waddington, a YouTube sensation with 175,000 subscribers to his channel, therefore called on Reds fans to back Sean Dyche’s side in an unusual fashion - by changing their Twitter profile pictures to one of Barnes.
The post has been shared thousands of times with social media timelines on the red side of Merseyside going crazy for the Clarets frontman.
“Oi Liverpool fans if you legit want Burnley to beat City this weekend?” he posted on his @OfficialVizeh Twitter account.
“Make this pic of Ashley Barnes your profile picture and send me screenshots. If you don’t then well it’s your fault we lose innit.”
Barnes has 12 goals in all competitions this season and was on target in 2-2 draw at Chelsea on Monday night.
His form has led to striker partner Chris Wood calling for him to get an unlikely England call-up from Gareth Southgate.
The duo are expected to lead the line for Dyche when Pep Guardiola’s side come to Turf Moor this weekend.
