ACCRINGTON Stanley confirmed their Football League survival after a 2-1 victory at Oxford United this afternoon.
The Reds sat rock bottom of the table after only two points from their first 10 matches, but have now sealed their place in League Two next season with a game to spare.
Kayode Odejayi fired Stanley in front in the 18th minute at the Kassam Stadium before James Gray doubled the advantage nine minutes after half time.
Australian Ryan Williams - brother of former Burnley duo Rhys and Aryn Williams - pulled a goal back for the home side in the 67th minute.
But Accrington had already done enough to secure their first ever victory over Oxford, and now sit 17th in the table ahead of their final game of the season at home to Wimbledon next weekend.
