JIMMY Ryan and Chris Turner have become the first players to finalise new contracts at Accrington Stanley.
The Reds, who ended their season with a 1-0 defeat at Bury on Saturday, have started negotiations with a number of their existing squad - with only Paul Mullin and Sean McConville previously holding contracts for next season. Talks with some players may continue during an end-of-season break in Portugal this week.
Ryan – last week voted as the club’s player of the season - was the first to be offered a new contract in March and the 20-year-old midfielder has now committed himself to the Reds for the next two years.
Former Burnley youth team winger Turner, 18, has also agreed terms on a deal to keep him at the Fraser Eagle Stadium next season after impressing since breaking into the first team in January.
Assistant manager Jimmy Bell said: "I’m made up to get the deal sorted with Jimmy to secure him for another two years.”
