CHORLEY suffered a midweek loss, exiting the Evo-Stik Challenge Cup after a shoot-out at Premier Division high-fliers Colwyn Bay.
The Magpies, currently third in First Division North, forced extra time when Dale Whitham scored with five minutes left – and the same man took it to penalties with another equaliser in the 120th minute.
Former Blackburn Rovers striker Matt Jansen was among those to score in the shoot-out but Jonathan Smith’s miss proved costly as Colwyn Bay won the fourth-round tie 7-6 on penalties.
Chorley travel to Trafford in the league tomorrow.
