Unbeaten title-chasers Chorley reclaimed top-spot with a quick-fire double over Durham, taking their goals-tally to eight without reply from the back-to-back games.
The Magpies had to work harder than last week for what in the end was a decisive victory, all the goals coming in the second half. Chorley went ahead in the 53rd minute when Tom Ince’s fierce drive was parried by keeper Lewis Graham and Chris Simm fired home the loose ball.
Nine minutes later, Dorney volleyed home his 13th goal of the season from Shelton Payne’s cross following an intricate passing move.
And another eye-catching goal put the icing on cake in when Dorney cushioned Jordan Stepien’s centre in to the path of Simm who lashed the ball home.
