JACK Dorney extended his remarkable scoring streak as Chorley underlined their title credentials at the expense of big-spending Chester.

This was manager Garry Flitcroft’s most notable victory since stepping into the Victory Park hot-seat in the summer and it was the prolific Dorney who struck the decisive blow.

The Evo-Stik League’s leading scorer bagged his 12th goal of the season midway through the second half to maintain the Magpies’ unbeaten run and condemn Chester to their first defeat of the season.

After weathering an early storm, Chorley broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute - and silenced the home fans in a bumper crowd of 3,092 - courtesy of a sharp piece of finishing from defender Andy Russell.

But Chester equalised just four minutes later with Rob Hopley heading past Aaron Grundy.

But the Magpies sealed the points when Dorney scored from the spot after Shelton Payne was felled in the area on the hour.
