Preston North End's derby defeat at home to Blackpool hinged on two penalty decisions, but PNE boss Alan Irvine does not want to dwell on what might have been.
Blackpool scored from the spot after Youl Mawene fouled rashly in the box but Preston appeals for a penalty after Neil Mellor was felled inside the area were rewarded with just a fruitless free-kick.
Irvine said: "It's painful and you always don't want to lose the derby but in the greater scale of things it is another three points that we have lost and that's something that we need to change very quickly.
"I came into this job saying that I don't want to be talking about referees or bad luck and I really still feel that way.
"I hope that I can spend more time talking about quality of play so that we don't rely on luck.
"We can't affect lucky breaks, bad luck or refereeing decisions but we can certainly work on quality."
