FA Cup fever truly gripped Blackburn as Benni McCarthy's late strike put the Gooners out of their second cup in a week and fully erased the disappointment of Rovers UEFA Cup exit!
Despite what anyone watching on TV may feel, the view from the Blackburn End on Wednesday night was simply Fabregas, sorry fabulous, as Rovers produced a fully committed display worthy of a place in the quarter finals of the worlds greatest Cup competition.
The atmosphere created at the game will be difficult to beat as the sub 20k crowd made Ewood feel full to capacity.
And who now would dare criticise Rovers impressive shut-out performance at the Emirates last week as Sparky's boys continue their relentless march to Wembley, yet to concede a goal in the competition?
Not for the first time this season did Rovers produce a sterling team display sprinkled with outstanding individual performances.
Chris Samba was once again quite literally head and shoulders above everyone on the pitch, whilst Benni McCarthy continued to do what he does best by adding another cracker to his 06/07 goal collection.
Man City at home beckons in the quarter finals and maybe this could be Rovers year for a long overdue date with destiny at Wembley.
