In the Northern League Twenty20, Darwen’s hopes of reaching finals day are hanging in the balance after they lost to Leyland.
Darwen have now finished their programe in South 2 Group and have 10 points from six games after suffering their first defeat of the campaign.
Leyland have six points from four games and if they beat Preston and Chorley this week they will tie with Darwen and the group will then be decided on run rate.
Leyland are at home to Preston on Tuesday and travel to Chorley on Friday.
Leyland made 129-7 in their 20 overs before Darwen were bowled out for 94 in reply.
