* The organisers of the Rossendale Triathlon – with the assistance from Rossendale Triathlon Club – are hosting the Stonyhurst Sprint Triathlon on Sunday at Stonyhurst College.
The race consists of a 400m swim at Stonyhurst Sports Club, followed by a 21k cycle into the Ribble Valley, and finishing with a 5k run around the college.
Late entries may still be accepted by heading to stonyhurst.ac.uk * The first Chorley Park Junior Series Race begins in Astley Park at 6.30pm tomorrow (Friday).
It is part of this year’s Clayton Juniors Summer Series. * The Gerard Navan’s 70th Birthday Bash Multi Terrtain 5K race will take place tomorrow (Friday) starting at 6.30pm from The Red Lion pub in Whitworth.
The event takes in two laps of Brown House Wham Reservoir. It is a very scenic course with a hilly start and downhill finish.

* There are still several weeks until the Pendle & Burnley Grand Prix 2012 gets underway.
The annual competition, an event that started way back in 1985, starts on Sunday, May 6 with the Hameldon Hill Fell Race, a six-mile event with 1,100 feet of climb starting at the Peel Park Pub, on Turkey Street, Accrington. For more details, contact 01254 237485.
It then continues with the Pinhaw Trail Race on Friday, May 11, starting at Earby Cricket Club.
There are 15 races in total – running through to the middle of August – with the best nine results counting, and three must be from each category of fell, road and trail.
Veterans in over 60 age groups can qualify with a minimum of six races.

It now takes place on Thursday, April 26 instead of the previously listed April 24.
It is reace two of the 2012 RunningSpec Accrington & District Series (best of eight of 12 races to count).

* Those not taking part in the London Marathon may wish to compete in Sunday’s Blackrod Half Marathon.
The event is open to everyone, with an entry fee of £20 and can be paid on the day. It starts and finishes at Blackrod Community Centre on Greenbarn Way, BL6 5TA.

* Entries are still being taken for this Sunday’s Bolton 10K Road Race at Leverhulme Park, Long Lane, Bolton, BL2 6EB.
It is a new course on undulating roads around and within Leverhulme Park for 2012.
It begins at 10am, with a £12 entry fee, and there is also a one-mile fun run at 9am. For more details go to bolton10k.co.uk * Andems Runners and Rochdale Harriers are looking for entries for the Hilary Craft’s ‘Action Against Cancer’ Cowm Reservoir 5K event on Tuesday, May 1.
It starts at 7pm from the Cock and Magpies, Cockhall Lane, Whitworth OL12 8BJ. Entry fee is £4 to affiliated, £5 unaffiliated, with an extra £1 on the night.
