Three North West athletes have returned home following Great Britain's successful World Championships in Osaka, Japan.
Wigan's Jenny Meadows was promoted into the individual 800 metres team after the late withdrawal of Rebecca Lynne and responded with a personal best of 2:00.14 to reach the semi-final.
There she reduced her PB a second time to 1:59.39 but still missed final qualification.
Meadows had first been chosen for the 4x400m relay squad, but didn't get a run with the bronze medal winning quartet.
Helen Clitheroe from Preston Harriers clocked 9:45.59 in her heat of the 3,000m steeplechase, but failed to make the final by around three seconds.
There was just one demonstration paralympic event at the Games - the 1500m wheelchair race - and in the women's version, Shelly Woods from Blackpool was eighth in 3:40.84.
