Blackburn Harriers won their latest fixture in the Northern Track and Field League at Cleckheaton by almost 100 points.
The combined Burnley and Pendle team were sixth of six in the same fixture, yet it was a Pendle athlete who stole the limelight.
Sophie Hitchon's mum Wendy broke the news of her daughter's latest exploits in the hammer with the words: "I hope it's not getting boring, but Sophie smashed her own record again today!"
The record in question is the United Kingdom Under-17s best, set by the 15-year- old just a week earlier when she became the first in the land to exceed 50 metres.
At Cleckheaton, she beat her previous best of 50.42m four times raising the UK record twice to 52.30m.
That is six times this season she has set the record, and it must raise hopes that she will gain the qualifying mark of 53 metres for the European Junior Championships.
There were two new club records for Blackburn Harriers in the match with Christina Carr clocking 65.9 seconds in the 400m hurdles, an under 20 best, and Rebecca McElroy broke the under 17s and under 20s discus record with 29.11m.
Rebecca went on to set the under 17s hammer record in the Young Athletes League the very next day.
Sarah Howarth won three A' string events for the Harriers, the 100m hurdles, long jump and triple jump, and confirmed her status as the club's top scorer by sharing success with Holly Bleasdale, Abby Edmundson and Carr in the sprint relay.
Ben Fish won the A' 5,000m and 3,000m steeplechase and was third in the 1500m.
In-form Paul Bradshaw won the B' string 400m and 800m but limped away from the 200m with a nasty hamstring injury.
He had travelled from Cardiff for the event, but his season might now be over.
Unlucky Hyndburn lost out on second place in their Division 4WC Match after they were deducted five points for the number of match officials they fielded.
Halifax squeezed past them by three points, but it was rough justice for the club after they had stepped in at short notice to host the event after there was yet another throws cage problem - this time at Bury.
There were a dozen A' string wins on home ground with Nicola Breaks and Stephen Sumner each producing three.
Heather Donald won a sprint double, thrower Lauren Grime took the hammer and discus, Caroline Smithson the long jump and Danny Martin the men's javelin.
In the same fixture, Chorley Athletic Club saw seven athletes achieve new personal bests on the track. Emma Booth set new marks in the 100m and 200m, Emma Perrin in the 400m and Charlotte Murray in the 100m.
For the men, Paralympian Graeme Ballard improved in the 400m, so too did Ben Knight and Michael Hough in the 100m and Paul Wareing in the 800m.
The Field Events saw two more PBs, with Kelly Hilton passing this season's target of 11 metres in the triple jump with 11.22m, and Paul Wareing putting the shot 7.20m.
