GRANT Spencer has returned to Evo-Stik League First Division North outfit Ramsbottom United after a short spell with Hyde United.
Spencer, who was the North West Counties League player of the month for April, moved to Blue Square Bet Premier Hyde in the summer after an excellent campaign for the Rams as they scoped the NWCFL title.
He joined his brother Scott, the England C international and prolific goal-scorer, at Ewen Fields but despite a number of appearances from the bench, he has so far failed to force himself into the Tigers starting line-up.
So he took up the open-ended invitation from Rams joint-managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley to return to the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium.
To complete the Rams supporters’ joy, with his first touch, coming on as a substitute, he set up Lee Gaskell for the equaliser in Saturday’s game at Farsley that finished 1-1.
