BLACKBURN Rovers have turned their attentions to Ricky Lambert and Luke Moore - after finally giving up their chase for Jordan Rhodes.
Rovers are desperate to add to their fire power before Friday's close of the transfer window, despite an unbeaten start to the campaign, and have conceded defeat in their efforts to sign Huddersfield's hot shot.
The Lancashire Telegraph understand Rovers are now plotting an ambitious swoop for Southampton front man Lambert, and are ready to pay significant cash to land him.
Thirty-year-old Lambert has been a key member of the Saints squad who have climbed into the Premier League and it would surprise many if they allowed him to depart.
Rovers are also hoping to land Swansea striker Luke Moore, 26, on loan, who has also enjoyed spells at West Brom and Aston Villa.
