SAWLEY'S Jon Schofield and partner Liam Heath have won bronze in the Olympic Kayak K2 200m men's sprint.
The pair dug in to hang on to third place in an incredible race at Eton Dorney as Russians Yury Postrigay and Alexander Dyachenko charged to gold in one of the most spectacular races.
French duo Arnaud Hybois and Sebastien Jouve were second.
Hugging his girlfriend Rachel Cawthorne, an exhausted Schofield said: "That was a long race, I did not think we were going to make it all the way to the line.
"We were really worried in our heats but that start was amazing and we just held it together."
"I am so proud of them," said Cawthorne, also a Team GB canoeist.
