EDENFIELD’S Ciaran Williams had his Olympic handball ambitions ended on Saturday with a fourth defeat that exposed Great Britain’s inexperience.
A 34-17 loss to Tunisia in Group A ruled out any chance of reaching the quarter finals, although Williams still has a match to play at the Copper Box in Stratford today when Britain take on Iceland.
Williams said: “The Iceland match is the last chance for the team to play against a top handball team in such a great arena and in front of fanatical supporters who have been tremendous throughout.
“It would be wonderful to finish on a positive performance.”
