Accrington Stanley have completed the signing of George Miller on a free transfer.
The highly rated midfielder was released at the end of last season by Preston North End after coming through the youth ranks at Deepdale and making half a dozen first team appearances.
“It was very tough for me to leave Preston because I spent 12 years of my life there but what’s in the past is in the past now and I have to look to the future and a new challenge. I’m excited about the new season," said the 20-year-old, who has signed a one-year contract with the Reds.
“My aim is to establish myself in the first team. That’s the main reason why I came here. I want to play football. I’ve obviously been released by Preston but now I’ve got the chance to really kick on and get plenty of games under my belt in League Two."
Stanley boss Paul Cook is delighted to have secured George's signature.
"He comes with a great reputation," he explained. "We're delighted to have him here and looking forward to working with him this season."
