THE Grass Roots Heroes Awards are back!
Following the success of last year’s inaugural awards, the Lancashire Telegraph, together with United Utilities, are again searching to find local amateur sporting heroes from across East Lancashire.
Last year’s event – supported by our sporting celebrities, including Burnley ace Jay Rodriguez and ex-Blackburn Rovers star Kevin Gallacher – was a huge success.
Now we want this year’s awards to be just as good – or even better.
The aim is to recognise and reward those people who contribute so much to the sporting community.
From team sports to individuals pursuits, from outdoor action to indoor leagues, there are so many deserving causes out there.
We want to reward the talents of teams and individuals who have starred in their particular sport or those hard-working officials and behind-the scenes committee members whose hard work rarely goes rewarded.
Now is your chance to honour all of those efforts, endeavours and tireless dedication.
Once again there are 10 categories – including Lifetime Achievemen, won by Iqbal Bhai, (left) last year.
The awards will be held at Mytton Fold Hotel, Langho, the venue for last year’s presentation evening, on Thursday, December 6.
To nominate someone for a Grass Roots Heroes award, simply turn to the centre pages to see a brief description of all the categories and a nomination form.
Deadline for entries is Friday, November 2.
You have plenty of time but make sure you make time to nominate your hero!
