BURNLEY trail to Stephen Dobbie's 21st minute goal at half-time at Bloomfield Road.
The midfielder recovered after being caught by Marvin Bartley to line up the free kick, and successfully drove it through the wall and beyond the diving Lee Grant.
Kieran Trippier almost came up with an immediate response after cutting in from the right and bringing an excellent save from the busy Matthew Gilks.
Blackpool had early shouts for a penalty dismissed after Michael Duff appeared to handle the ball in the box from another Dobbie effort.
But Burnley enjoyed good spells of football for much of the first half, with Gilks forced into a further save from Charlie Austin's punched header from Trippier's cross, while Chris McCann also went close with a header.
