MELLOR’S Brogan Townend will look to defend her Formby Leveret Trophy on Saturday against a top class field full of internationals from England, Scotland and Wales.
The 17-year-old junior England international from Pleasington won the event last year with a superb five-shot victory.
But the Clitheroe Grammar School sixth form student faces a tough task to defend her title at the prestigious 36-hole scratch event.
Among those competing are Accrington’s Nikki Foster and Beaconsfield’s Rachel Drummond, who represented England at the European Nations Championships last week.
