Two games this week and two more defeats for Paul Cook and the lads – not the start our new boss would have wanted.
Crewe and Swindon are good teams and there is no disgrace in returning empty handed from them.
I just hope we can start scoring goals again soon.
I listened intently to Cook’s post-match interview and I have to say that, despite the last few results, we have chosen the right manager to lead us over the next few years.
His language was positive, while not patronising, and calm despite what must have been a hurricane of emotion pounding through his head.
The new loan keeper Lee Nicholls was singled out for praise especially for his efforts in the second half and, while Paul admitted we had shot ourselves in the foot with the two goals we conceded, he could see enough positives elsewhere in the game.
The next three games see us take on Port Vale, Bradford and Southend I am think we can realistically expect at least four points from the fixtures.
The club announced this week that Bumble, aka David Lloyd, has joined the board. This is fantastic news and I hope he can pull a few strings and get the Reds back on the box some time soon.
The one thing I am sure of is that with Stanley you must always expect the unexpected and there’s never a dull moment in the Clayton End.
So it’s time to buckle up for the end of season run in I have a feeling it’s going to be one hell of a ride.
