Michael Duff and Martin Paterson have both been called up by Northern Ireland for new coach Michael O'Neill's first game in charge.

The Clarets' duo are also joined in a 24-man squad for a friendly against Norway in Belfast on Wednesday, February 29 by on-loan Millwall frontman Josh McQuoid.

Fit-again striker Paterson returns to the international fold for the first time since a World Cup qualifier in September, 2009.

And Duff's recall is welcome recognition for a superb season at Turf Moor as he earns a first call-up since November, 2008 with O'Neill starting to plan for Northern Ireland's 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Belfast-born Duff has won 22 caps, while Paterson has been has been capped 12 times and McQuoid, currently in a three-month loan spell with Burnley, will be hoping to make his sixth senior international appearance.

Clarets' defender David Edgar will also be on international duty as part of the Canada squad named to play a friendly against Armenia in Cyprus on February 29.
