Colne toppled Stone Dominoes with two second half goals in a controlled display at Springbank Park to move up to tenth place in the league. The Reds always had the upper hand but in the first half their carefully measured build-up always allowed the home team to defend in numbers.
In the second half, the game opened up as Colne stretched Stone’s defence and Mark Threlfall fired the Reds in to the lead in the 50th minute after racing on to a lob from Chris Thompson.
And Mark Coyne sealed victory, firing low pass the Stone keeper after latching on to a flick-on from Micky Woodvine.
