THE Blackburn Rovers Fans Forum is welcoming involvement from a greater number of supporters in an attempt to restore contact with owners Venky’s.

Nine members of the club’s official fans forum travelled to India in October, to express their concerns about the running of the club.

They returned feeling reassured about Rovers’ future but have now expressed their disappointment that they have no communication from Venky’s since then.

The forum, however, is keen to keep working with the club to improve relations with supporters and has invited more fans to get involved.

A statement said: “When Venky’s invited a group of fans forum members to join the club’s trip to Pune in early October we had high hopes that this represented a commitment to improved communications with the fans.

“During our meeting with Balaji Rao we were led to believe that this was the opportunity for a new start.

“Since we returned we have had no communication from the owners and we are disappointed expectations set at that meeting have unfortunately not been followed through to date.

“Nevertheless our relationship with the management team at Ewood Park continues to be good and it is clear that they are committed to continuing to work together with us.

“We hope that through local management we can develop clearer communication links with the club’s owners in Pune and will continue to provide a voice for all Rovers fans.

“The forum recognises that many fans feel remote from its work. As a result we plan to open up our pre-meets, which are held prior to the meetings with the club and set the agenda for those meetings.

“In addition vacancies on the forum occur from time to time and we would welcome new applications for membership.”
