JACK Catterall completed his revenge mission when he out-classed and out-pointed Charlie Driscoll to be crowned CYP national champion.
In a rematch of the ABA national final – which many believed Catterall should have won – the Chorley fighter made sure there was no repeat with a stunning performance.
In a battle between the two England internationals, Catterall took control of the centre of the ring from the first bell, catching the unrushing Driscoll – who fights out of the West Ham Boys Club in Harlow – with clean shots before changing his angles to keep him off balance. Catterall was determined to put May’s defeat behind him and cranked up the pressure in the second round, scoring with shots to the head and body while making sure he avoided desperate punches.
Catterall upped his tempo in the third and cutting the tiring Driscoll in the fourth.
In what was a dominate performance, Catterall got the judges decision 27-15 to be crowned national champion.
