Happy days are here again! Back to back wins at home and the first clean sheet for an age makes for a happy weekend.
The game was not the most scintillating of affairs and the 3-0 scoreline somewhat flattered the Reds.
That said all victories are welcome and for two of our strikers to get on the scorsheet is a massive lift for the club.
Craig Lindfield has huge potential and, as with Padraig Amond, I am sure there are more goals to come.
Padraig has a great first touch and looks very positive on the ball. This combined with his work rate makes him an excellent prospect.
The disappointing crowd was something we will have to get used to at the Crown Ground as the winter months draw in – 1,300 is nowhere near enough people to sustain a Football League club.
The share issue is a great start, but we cannot rest for one minute in our quest to swell the gates.
The club is making all the right noises about community involvement and the links with local schools are superb.
Perhaps now is time to offer a big discount to season ticket holders of Burnley and Rovers to attract them along when their respective teams are away.
We lost a generation of fans to our larger neighbours due to our demise in the 1960s, now perhaps it’s time to try and get a few of them back!
