BLACKBURN continued their winning start to the season with a comfortable victory at Millom.
Despite the wet and windy conditions, Blackburn were clinical mood to make it three wins out of three, running in seven tries and picking up five maximum bonus points.
Blackburn suffered an early set back when Nick Rhodes was forced off in the 12th minute to be replaced by player/coach Dino Radice.
But he made an instant impact, taking the ball in to the Millom 22 and releasing Rick Maudsley for the first of his two tries.
That lead was extended in the 26th minute when Liam Oldham, who put in a man of the match performance, found Norton Johnston whose pass released Paul Millea to score his second try of the season.
Marco Vaghetti converted to make it 12-0.
A flowing backs move set up try number three with Steve Bibby running in under the posts and Vaghetti again converting to make it 19-0 at the break.
It was another fine move that brought up the fourth try, Vaghetti, Gareth Bullen, Oldham and Tom Marland all involved before Joe Holden crossed. This time Dom Hogan added the extras.
Maudsley and then Holden scored their second tries of the match – both converted by Hogan – before Anton Garcia scored the seventh try.
Radice said: “At times, we showed some excellent unselfish play but we need to improve on our decision making.”
