ACCRINGTON Stanley forward Nat Taylor will be suspended for the Reds’ next six games – after picking up a ban that has echoes of the drama surrounding Ray Putterill last season.

The 18-year-old moved into professional football for the first time when he signed for Stanley last month but must now serve a 35-day suspension after being sent off in a match for Accrington and Rossendale College last season.

The Lancashire FA ban kicked in on August 29, meaning he missed Saturday’s trip to Barnet and will only complete his ban on October 2.

Ray Putterill was suspended for a similar period at the start of last season after an incident during a match for Halewood at the end of the 2009/10 season.
