BURNLEY are set to secure striker Tom Eaves on loan from Bolton Wanderers when the window re-opens next week.
I understand the deal was set up in principle when Chris Eagles and Tyrone Mears were sold to the Premier League club in July.
The 6ft 4ins former Crewe and Oldham striker was targeted by the Clarets last summer.
The teenager was also wanted by Blackpool, following promotion from the Championship, and Blackburn Rovers.
Eaves came to Bolton’s attention after he hit a hat-trick against them in a 3-0 win for Oldham in last summer’s friendly at Boundary Park.
The Liverpudlian made a £250,000 move to the Reebok a month later, despite never starting a first team for the Latics after signing from Crewe in 2007.
Just over a year into his three-year contract, Eaves has yet to make a senior appearance for Bolton.
But the 19-year-old is still wanted by Burnley and is expected to arrive on a temporary deal once the window has re-opened on Thursday.
