BLACKBURN Rovers have appointed Chris Dalton as the club's new academy doctor.

Dalton, 41, is a partner at the Sabden and Whalley Medical Group and replaces Chris Mowbray after 12 years service.

Dalton will be responsible for looking after the health concerns of the club’s first and second-year scholars.

He will be on-site at Rovers’ Brockhall training base at least twice a week and will attend all weekend games.

He said: "I am delighted to take up this new challenge.

"Having completed the diploma and got the experience, I was really hoping to get a role within football - and this position is just perfect."
