NELSON Golf Club junior captain Ben Short fronts the team that swept to victory in the Blackburn & Darwen Junior Town League by 49 points – five clear of nearest challengers Wilpshire.
The league – comprising 10 teams from East Lancashire – was played in a foursomes format over nine matches with two points for each match won and a single point per match halved.
The Nelson lads went unbeaten, winning five and halving four.
“I am really proud of my lads,” said Nelson junior organiser Tony Drake.
“They are a great bunch and conduct themselves in a manner which is a credit to Nelson Golf Club.”
Nelson’s team comprises Ben Short, Curtis Clarkin, Niall Ormerod, Joe Rigby, Scott Byrom, Callum Broadleday, Adam DeLooze, Ben Ross, James Kearsley, Declan Buksh, Jacob Gould and Charlie Ellis.
