GEORGE IV have reached the Burnley and District Summer Football League final after beating rivals from the same pub!
And they did it the hard way. coming from 2-0 down to beat FC George IV 3-2.
FC George IV looked odds on for a place in the final when Danny Benson opened the scoring and James Crorken hammered home their superiorty to make it 2-0. But Lee Barrett pulled one back and George IV levelled through Marc Beckett.
The match was heading for extra time until John Harrison rose to head home a quality cross from Beckett to score a dramatic late winner.
They will play Prairie in the final who beat Red House 6-0 with goals from Ricki Sutcliffe (2), Craig Robinson, Kev Tomlinson, Chris Sait and Alex Peel.
The final will be held at the Arbories, Padiham FC on Thursday, August 4 (6.30pm ko).
