TEENAGE hot-shot Kurtis Guthrie will look to score in his third straight pre-season friendly tonight as Accrington Stanley travel to Cammell Laird (7.45pm kick-off).
The 18-year-old Jersey striker landed a one-year contract with Stanley over the weekend after impressing Reds boss John Coleman during his two-game trial stint.
After bagging a brace in Stanley’s 4-0 romp over Radcliffe Borough last week, Guthrie added another goal in Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Blackburn Rovers at Morecambe’s Globe Arena.
He may get the chance to score for a third straight game if given the nod for this evening’s clash against their Birkenhead opponents of the Evo-Stik League Division One North.
So far, Coleman has given a number of trialists an opportunity to shine this summer, including a behind-close-doors match played yesterday.
But he is expected to name a team made up of mostly contracted players for tonight’s friendly.
