A minute’s silence was observed before the weekend friendly for the recent passing away of Kenneth Peters, Bacup’s vice president and the father of manager Brent Peters.
The game itself was broken up into three 30-minute games, with both sides playing football with great technique.
Bacup took the lead in the opening thirty minutes, when Daniel Cocks picked up the ball before running at the heart of the Latics defence before finishing well.
The home side doubled their lead when Stuart Nixon provided an excellent cross into the box that Lee Oldham got across the Latics defence to finish well.
