BLACKBURN Rovers’ efforts to finalise the signing of Argentine striker Hugo Mariano Pavone will continue this weekend despite claims his Ewood Park move had been completed.
Several national newspapers and websites today said the 29-year-old had already agreed a three-year deal.
But club sources have told the Lancashire Telegraph there are several issues still to be ironed out before he becomes a Rovers player.
Pavone will not feature in Rovers’ pre-season double header against Accrington and Morecambe at the Globe Arena this afternoon but the club are bidding to conclude the switch before their planned trip to India on Wednesday.
It is understood there are still a couple of complications to be resolved with the player before the deal can go through, but Rovers remain confident it will get sorted.
Pavone would join Rovers on a three-year deal as a free agent, having bought his contract out at Spanish outfit Real Betis, with Kean still on the look out for one more striker.
