NEW Blackburn Rovers signing Shabina Nonda may have to wait to make his Premiership debut because he was only due to train with his new team-mates for the first time today.

The former Monaco striker was due to arrive at Brockhall for training yesterday morning but he was late back from international duty, which meant he couldn't join in with the rest of the group.

Manager Mark Hughes will now assess the 29-year-old's fitness before deciding whether or not to include him in his squad for tomorrow's trip to Sheffield United.

"He was supposed to come in yesterday morning but he missed the early flight so we'll have a look at him (today)," said the Rovers boss.

"That will be his first session with the group so it's going to be difficult to get an indication of whether he will be an option for the weekend or not."
