Chris Mowbray has called time on his long-serving career as Blackburn Rovers’ Academy doctor.
Mowbray, who has looked after the health concerns of the club’s fledgling footballers for the past 12 years, was presented with a watch by Academy manager Phil Cannon at a special leaving luncheon.
Having joined the club’s backroom team on an ad-hoc basis in the early-80s, the 56-year-old initially provided cover for former first team doctor Paul Burke and was involved in the Premiership glory years of the mid-90s.
Chris, who is to continue his practice in Little Harwood, insists he will miss his regular visits to Rovers’ Brockhall training base, but is looking forward to spending more time with his family.
