FOUR teams go in search of glory tonight as the Lancashire League’s Twenty20 tournament reaches the semi-final stage.
And for three of the four it is a first semi-final of the weekend as Nelson, Ramsbottom and Todmorden aim for double glory with their Worsley Cup semi-finals on Sunday.
Nelson host Todmorden at Seedhill a week after their game in Group A of the competition was settled on a bowl out.
Nelson won that 4-1 to book their place in the semis and name a strong unchanged side for the rematch as the bid to overcome their first loss in 12.
Their winning run was ended by Church on Sunday but Tom Lord has a full strength team as they bid for another place in another final to follow on from their place in the 2009 showpiece.
“We are all looking forward to it,” said Nelson chairman Milton Lord.
“It is the first game of a big weekend and we are hoping for a good crowd and a good game.”
Nick Barker and Oliver Wood replace Ross Coates and Freddie Priestley in the Todmorden team for the clash.
Todmorden are flying under new skipper Andrew Sutcliffe and are bang in form at the top of the Lancashire League table.
It is a massive weekend fro Tod as they travel to Nelson tonight before going to reigning champions Ramsbottom tomorrow in the league.
That game is followed by Sunday’s semi-final as Tod host Ramsbottom at Centre Vale in their Worsley Cup semi-final.
Ramsbottom name a strong side for tonight’s clash with Enfield as they look to retain the T20.
Andy Hakin, who was a hat-trick hero as fortnight ago in the competition retains his place in the side and is also included for Sunday’s Worsley Cup clash.
Enfield are at strength for the trip to Acre Bottom and look to have the make-up of an ideal T20 side with strong batting and in-form professional Werner Coetsee looking the business.
