TOTTENHAM Hotspur are understood to have put a £5m price tag on Robbie Keane after Blackburn Rovers declared their interest in the striker.
Rovers are looking to bolster their forward line this summer and are believed to have seen a tentative initial bid rejected for the Republic of Ireland’s all-time record goalscorer, thought to have been in the region of £2million.
The two clubs are a long way apart in terms of valuation, with Tottenham wanting £5m for a striker they brought back to White Hart Lane from Liverpool for an initial fee of £12m two-and-a-half years ago.
Keane, who had previously attracted Rovers’ interest shortly before Sam Allardyce’s departure as boss, spent the end of the 2010/11 campaign on loan at West Ham with limited success.
But he recently became the British Isles’ record goalscorer at international level after taking his tally for Ireland to 51.
