Nelson will host Todmorden and Ramsbottom entertain Enfield in the semi-finals of the Lancashire League Twenty20 after the foursome made it through their groups on Friday night.

While Nelson, Todmorden and Ramsbottom were favourites to go through at the start of play, Enfield performed ever so well to beat Accrington in double quick time – and that enabled them to go through on run rate.

Enfield pipped Church to the last four of the Lancashire League Twenty20 competition on Friday night as they beat Accrington in double quick time to book their spot in the semi-finals.

The game at Thorneyholme Road was one of only two to beat the torrential rain - and Accrington suffered in the soggy conditions as they could only post 100-8.

And then Werner Coetsee (28), skipper Adam Bracewell (26), Liam Jackson (14 not out) and Sagawat Hussain (16 not out) dashed Enfield home in 12.2 overs - just enough to see them top the group on run rate.

Ramsbottom are also through after their win at Rawtenstall.

Shanan Stewart claimed three wickets as the home side were bowled out for 99 - and Ramsbottom eased through.

The other matches were decided in unconventional manner with Nelson and Todmorden going through.

Todmorden were 100-3 from 16 overs at Seedhill with pro Qaiser Abbas on 64 not out when the rain came down - but Nelson won 4-1 in the bowl out, while Lowerhouse beat Burnley 2-1 when the sides aimed at the stumps.

Bacup beat Haslingden on the toss of a coin - and that was also the desired way of deciding the outcome of the Rishton v East Lancashire.

Luckless Rishton, whose only win this year came in a Worsley Cup tie at Bacup, could celebrate, however, as Jimmy Bibby called right to ensure three points.
