NIKOLA Kalinic is seeking talks with boss Steve Kean within the next 10 days as he looks to bring an end to the uncertainty hanging over his Blackburn Rovers career.
The Croatian striker has been stuck in limbo since dropping out of favour at Ewood Park last season but is now demanding answers to whether he is still in the club’s plans before the start of pre-season.
Rovers fly out to Austria for a week-long training camp at the start of next month and Kalinic wants to know before then whether Steve Kean’s plans for the future include him.
The 23-year-old, who Sam Allardyce brought to Rovers for £6million in August 2009, has several suitors from the Premier League and abroad waiting to swoop and his representatives are now desperate to sort the player’s future out one way or the other.
Kalinic still wants to prove a success at Rovers but does not want his current uncertainty to drag on any more as he looks for regular football.
Kalinic is concerned the longer the situation continues the more likely it is to affect his pre-season preparations and will ask the club to be up front with him if they don’t believe he is the answer to their search for more fire power.
Rovers boss Kean has already revealed he will be looking to sign two strikers this summer and sources close to Kalinic fear this would spell the end of his Ewood stay.
Agent Tomislav Erceg, said: “We want to talk to the coach as soon as possible so we know what happens next. Nikola Kalinic is contracted to Blackburn and so we will not talk about other clubs.
“There are a lot of clubs we believe who would want Niko.
"He needs to know if he is going to play for Blackburn first though.
"There is no problem with the club and if they want him to stay he will stay.”
