HOLDERS Darwen begin their defence of the Readers Cup tomorrow with a tough trip to Leyland.
John Cordingley’s men, who memorably won the trophy at Morecambe last year, head to Fox Lane for the pick of the first round ties in the Northern League’s premier knock-out competition.
Chorley have a bye into the second round, while Lancashire Colts enter the competition for the first time and travel to Fleetwood.
