BLACKBURN Rovers director Richard Matthewman has become the latest board member from the ‘Jack Walker era’ to leave the club.
Non-executive director Matthewman, a former vice-chairman, has resigned after a 30-year involvement with the Ewood Park outfit.
Matthewman’s exit follows the high-profile departures of chairman John Williams and managing director Tom Finn earlier this year.
It means that Robert Coar and finance director Martin Goodman are the only figures on the Rovers board who pre-date the takeover by Venky’s last year.
Matthewman, who quit as vice-chairman in 2005, is the son-in-law of Jack Walker and is one of Blackburn’s most prominent businessmen.
He is also managing director of Neales Waste Management.
