BLACKBURN Arena has hit the elite as far as lessons for young skaters are concerned.
The arena is now one of just 12 venues in the country to be awarded a National Ice Skating Excellence Award from the National Ics Skating Association.
Coaches at the Arena have been rewarded for their hard work with the award and the chairman of Blackburn Blades Colin Adamson is delighted.
“We coach children from four up to people of 18, from beginners to experienced skaters, so there really is something for everyone,” he said.
“The excellence award is something we are proud of because of all of the hard work that is put in by people - and there are only a dozen other ice arenas in the country to have it.
“So I suppose we are in an elite.”
