Clitheroe Royal Grammar School played Ribblesdale high school in the final of the year 8 Hyndburn and Ribble valley schools football cup.
The game was played on the new 3g all-weather pitch at CRGS and with both teams looking to play football it had the potential to be a memorable final.
It lived up to the billing and was watched by a large crowd of parents from both schools.
The first half was dominated by Ribblesdale and ended with them taking a 3-0 lead at half time.
After a half time team talk, Clitheroe came out fighting only for Ribblesdale to score again making it 4-0.
The tie seemed dead and buried, only for the belief and work rate of Clitheroe to increase and show some passion.
What next took place was possibly the best 20 minutes of comeback football ever seen at a schoolboy match.
The goals started to flow with Reede (two) and Fourie (two) and Ribblesdale had no answer to the Clitheroe attack.
With two minutes to go and the score 4-4 Reede hit the bar only for Clitheroe’s top goal scorer George Oliver (11 in just five games) to poke the ball home.
From not having a chance in the game the Clitheroe players had earn themselves a victory that had looked imposssible.
