THE rain came down to wreck yesterday's Lancashire League programme with all seven games called off by early afternoon.
A bright and sunny morning gave way to heavy rain across the area by noon – and there was no chance of play at any of the grounds.
It meant frustration for teams and fans and for new Rawtenstall professional, Sri Lankan Nilantha Cooray.
Cooray had been due to land in time for Friday night's Twenty20 game at Bacup but was delayed once again.
However, he landed on Saturday and was due to debut in the Seedhill clash with in-form Nelson until the weather played it decisive hand and delivered a rare total washout of the programme.
The games will now be played on Saturday, July 16.
