MANCHESTER United look to have won the race for Blackburn Rovers' Phil Jones.
The 19-year-old is due to United's Carrington training ground this afternoon for a medical.
He could complete his move before flying out to the under-21 European championships in Denmark later today.
It is understood a fee in the region of £16million has been agreed by the clubs, with Jones opting for United over bidding rivals Liverpool.
The Premier League’s big guns have all been jostling for Jones' services.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish watched Jones a number of times towards the end of last season, Arsenal had an £8million bid turned down last summer, while Chelsea had tentative enquiries rebuffed during the January transfer window.
Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are also known to have been interested.
