THE eyes of the cricket world were turned on to the Lancashire League yesterday when Sky Sports featured Burnley CC, Lowerhouse and Haslingden in their latest in their Club Life series.

The feature, screened during the lunch break of the Lord’s Test, highlighted Burnley’s success in producing county cricketers.

It featured interviews with Burnley skipper Steve Brunt as well as Turf Moor chairman and Surrey star Michael Brown, Vishal Tripathi and youth chairman Andy Lamb as well as former skipper Peter Brown.

David Lloyd visited Lowerhouse to see the derby game, which was rained off.

That gave him chance to interview Stan Heaton and the programme also featured action from the Burnley v Haslingden game at Turf Moor.

Haslingden skipper Graham Knowles spoke of his memories of Burnley – and then starred for the cameras, making a century.
